In Malcolms X’s “Learning to Read” and Frederick Douglass “Learning to Read and Write”, both of these stories show that learning can be a blessing and a curse. In Malcolm X’s “Learning to read”, Malcolm was satisfied with all the knowledge the he gained and was anxious to learn more and further his education whereas in Frederick Douglass “Learning to Read and Write” he was discouraged with all the information he gained which made him envious of all the other slaves owing to the fact that he had certain information he wish he didn’t have he believed it was a curse. Therefore learning can be a blessing and a curse.
