The child-directed speech (CDS) and a child language are two components that are concerned with the child speech and language, and how child acquire the language in the world in order to talk and communicate. According to behaviorism the theory is said the children acquire the language through imitating what is being told by the adults. Both the child language and child-directed speech both of them are useful to a child in to talk and express the feelings furthermore the communication between child and caregiver to child is more useful to a child language and speech.
CDS is the special style of language that is used in a particular content in which is adopted by parents and others when talking to a young child according to Saxton (n.d.,p. 62). This can tell us that the child-directed speech is different register of adults and a child, this will lead to a child to know the things that need to be known (which are important) and be able to get the language because the child will be listening and the caregiver will be talking to a child. Moreover child-directed speech can be classified as an interaction and the communication between a child a caregiver and this will provide the order clear language that can be copied to a child. Child-directed has the features and the co-operating principle to make sure child contribute to a conversation. This features are as followed prosody, syntax, lexicon, phonology and discourse.
